Although, strictly speaking, this isn’t an Indian Summer (according to Radio 4 this morning, there has to have been a frost for it to count as an IS), it’s jolly welcome, and we couldn’t let the day go past without a lunchtime walk in the walled garden here at Loseley Park.
The borders are still handsome and colourful, particularly the Gertrude Jekyll inspired trio of beds created by volunteer gardener, Hilary Franklin, (who also knits amazing socks).
October is development month here, so beds are being realigned to make a seating area.
New steps are being constructed.
And wheelbarrows need to be moved.
Throughout the year there is so much to see here at Loseley and we are very lucky to be able to stretch our legs and rest our screen-weary eyes in such a lovely place.
