Helmingham Ho!

Yesterday I drove up to Suffolk for the Suffolk Group‘s Autumn Plant Fair at Helmingham Hall.

The weather forecast had been a bit iffy in the week leading up, but someone clearly put in a word in the right quarter as it was beautiful on the day.

The fair was a delight to visit, with a brass band, cakes, honey, and beer-all local. The nurseries were all selling ‘proper’ plants, not something that had appeared from the Netherlands on a giant truck.

There were several National Collection Holders, demonstrations and displays- and a delicious Plant Heritage plant stall. As the super garden was also open, it made a lovely afternoon out.
