And if you are in or near Devon this weekend

Some advice from our Devon Group:

Don’t miss a new event coming up in the heart of West Devon on Friday 17th & Saturday 18th June. The historic Arts and Crafts Garden Festival will be held in the grounds of ‘Coombe Trenchard’, an impressive Arts & Crafts house set in gardens originally designed by Walter Sarel, a contemporary of Gertrude Jekyll. Sadly little of the original planting remains and part of the funds raised from the festival will be used to fund the ongoing restoration of the garden. Festival highlights include: speakers Toby Buckland (Gardeners’ World), Sarah Chesters and Brigit Strawbridge; Gardeners’ Q & A, Plant Swap and Plant Identification; plants from specialist West Country nurseries, quality garden crafts, an Edwardian Croquet match, music and excellent food. During your visit, come and visit the Plant Heritage stand, where we will be displaying plants from Devon’s National Plant Collections and running a Plant & Garden Tombola to raise funds for the conservation of the UK’s garden plants.
