Orchids

Went to a really positive meeting yesterday at the Seedbank with Michael McIllmurray the Maxillaria collection holder, to talk about our orchid collection holders becoming involved with Orchid Seed Stores for Sustainable Use (OSSSU). This appears to be one of those rare projects that benefits everyone. There will be more information in the next NCH newsletter and the journal later in the year.

Lots of interesting posts on the CCVS blog including this one celebrating the 300th anniversary of the arrival of the Magnolia in Europe. If you are not a proficient reader of French, try Google translate where you can type in web address or phrases, and even translate documents (you need to apply a measure of common sense to the result though!)

And a lovely article in the Telegraph on Caerhays and their collections.
